What is Aromatherapy?
Aromatherapy is the therapeutic use of essential oils and has a long established history in holistic healing and bringing harmony and balance to body and mind. The essential oils used in aromatherapy are the concentrated, fragrant, volatile essences extracted from plants. They are selected for their unique properties to target specific complaints or simply increase wellbeing. When used alongside massage, essential oils enhance the healing power of touch, and can also be used to great effect when inhaled, immediately stimulating the olfactory centre in the forebrain, and also absorbed through the skin, where they circulate around the body via the bloodstream. Supporting and enhancing the relaxing, invigorating and healing benefits of massage.
